Biography
Superlek Kiatmoo9 was born on November 6th 1995 as Manachai Yiamsiri. He was originally from Buriram, in the North-eastern Isaan region of Thailand, well-known for producing many of the best Muay Thai fighters. He began fighting at the age of 7, having been inspired by his two uncles who are also famous fighters. One of whom is the multiple time champion and YOKKAO fight team member, Singdam Kiatmoo9. The fighting talent certainly runs genetically in the family DNA. Following the footsteps of his uncles, Superlek started his Muay Thai training at the famous Kiatmoo9 gym of Buriram.
Fight Career
Superlek is one of the most elite Muay Thai fighters in Thailand at the moment, often winning his fights with a very technical style and powerful knees. He won his first Thailand Champion title against Phetsakon FA Group at the age of 15 for the 105 lbs weight division in 2011. The following year, he took the champion belt of Thailand again after moving up to the 112 lbs weight division when he faced Palangphon Watcharachai.
In that same year of 2012, Superlek made waves in the Muay Thai scene by clinching the Lumpinee Stadium Champion title at 115 lbs when he beat Muangthai Sor Bounliyam. Following which, he also defended the title successfully against challenger Sangmanee Sor Tienpo the same year. For his excellent performance, Superlek was awarded the prestigious Sports Authority of Thailand Muay Thai Fighter of The Year in 2012. Bagging 2 belts and the award, the year remains his most memorable with these achievements of the highest honour.
Superlek’s campaign for more belts continued the next year in 2013 as he moved up a class in the weight division. He took a brief stumble over the Thailand Champion title 118 lbs at Lumpinee Stadium, losing to frequent rival, Mondam Wor Werapon. But Superlek bounced back quickly 3 months later when he faced Mondam again for the Lumpinee Stadium Champion title at 118 lbs. Superlek ended the ferocious matchup with a right elbow KO in the third round and adding a second Lumpinee belt to his collection. He ended that year on a great note when he won the Thailand Champion belt for 126 lbs by beating Thanonchai Tor Sangtiennoi by decision.
2014 and 2015 were challenging years for Superlek as he went through a dry spell with no belts to add to his name. However, he continued to be regularly ranked among the top fighters in both Lumpinee and Rajadamnern stadiums. During this period, he faced many of the best fighters of the time such as Sam-A Kaiyanghadaogym, Superbank Sakchaichode, and Pornsanae Sitmonchai.
Superlek ended the dry spell in 2016 at the new Lumpinee Stadium. After 5 intense and aggressive rounds with Saeksan Or. Kwanmuang, Superlek’s hand was raised via decision and bagged the WBC 130 lbs World Champion belt. The same year, he made his international debut at Suk Wanchai Muay Thai Super Fight event in Japan after many years of fighting only in his native land. He took home a quick win that night over Japanese fighter Yasuyuki with a right kick KO in round 2.
Superlek will make his YOKKAO UK debut at the Bolton Macron Stadium on October 15th 2017.
